Welcome to A New Day

Personalized Therapy

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. At A New Day Counseling, I provide a space where you can feel safe being yourself---where you can talk openly, explore what you’re going through, and feel heard without judgment.

I know that life can feel overwhelming at times, and everyone’s experience is different. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you and walk alongside you at your own pace.

Individual psychotherapy offers the opportunity to understand yourself on a deeper level. Together, we’ll explore patterns in your thoughts, behaviors, communication, and relationships—helping you not only recognize them, but also understand where they come from and how they impact your daily life.

With guidance and support, you’ll have space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that fosters insight, personal growth, and a stronger connection to yourself. Together, we’ll work toward more than just relief—we’ll focus on helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and develop the confidence to create meaningful, lasting change in your life.

Signs you need to seek help

  • It’s interfering with daily life
If anxiety, persistent worry, low mood, or distress is making it hard to focus, work, go to school, or complete everyday tasks, counseling can help you regain control.

  • You’re avoiding things regularly
Avoiding social situations, certain places, or responsibilities due to fear, worry, or triggers can limit your life and is a strong sign to seek support.

  • You feel persistently sad, empty, or excessively worried
Ongoing sadness, hopelessness (depression), or constant worry and fear (anxiety) are important signals that extra help may be needed.

  • You have intrusive thoughts or memories
Recurring unwanted thoughts (anxiety/OCD) or distressing memories and flashbacks (PTSD) that are hard to control are key reasons to seek counseling.

  • You engage in repetitive behaviors or mental rituals
Compulsions like checking, counting, overthinking, or needing reassurance (often tied to anxiety and OCD) can interfere with daily functioning.

  • Physical symptoms are frequent
Headaches, stomachaches, fatigue, muscle tension, rapid heartbeat, sweating, or feeling “on edge” are common physical signs of anxiety and related conditions.

  • Sleep is consistently affected
Trouble falling asleep due to racing thoughts (anxiety), nightmares (PTSD), or sleeping too much (depression) can all signal a need for support.

  • Your relationships are strained
Irritability, withdrawal, fear of judgment (anxiety), emotional numbness, or difficulty communicating can impact relationships.

  • You feel overwhelmed, stuck, or constantly on alert
Feeling restless, keyed up, easily startled (PTSD), or unable to relax is a common experience with anxiety.

  • You’ve lost interest in things you used to enjoy
A lack of motivation or pleasure (depression) combined with anxiety about participating can reduce overall life satisfaction.

  • You’re experiencing guilt, shame, or low self-esteem
Persistent negative thinking, self-doubt, or fear of failure (common in anxiety and depression) can affect confidence and decision-making.

  • You’re using unhealthy coping methods
Turning to substances, overeating, avoidance, or isolation to manage anxious or depressive feelings is a sign that additional support is needed.

  • You have difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Racing thoughts, overthinking, or mental fog (common in anxiety and depression) can make even simple choices feel overwhelming.

  • You’re experiencing panic attacks or intense fear
Sudden episodes of overwhelming fear, shortness of breath, dizziness, or chest tightness are clear signs to seek help.

  • You’ve tried to manage it on your own without success
If coping strategies aren’t working or symptoms are getting worse, a professional can provide more effective tools.

  • You’re having thoughts of harming yourself
This is urgent—reach out to a mental health professional, a trusted person, or a crisis line immediately.
